• Isotope geochemistry, Igneous Petrology, in the broadest sense.
• Combined Hf-Nd-Sr-Pb-Os isotope analyses and major/ trace element compositions of mantle xenoliths.
• Plume-lithosphere interaction and the composition of the Hawaiian plume: The case from Hawaiian mantle xenoliths and lavas.
• Trace element fluxes in subduction zones and the recycling of oceanic lithosphere.
• Supra-Subduction Zone ophiolites.
• Origin of carbonatites, kimberlites and the fate of volatiles in the mantle.
• Composition and evolution of the sublithospheric mantle.
• Pressure, temperature and composition controls on trace element partitioning.
• Fe and transition metal concentrations in seawater.

Service to the Community:
• Trained and supervised three undergraduate summer interns on geochemistry research (part of an NSF-funded REU program at NHMFL/FSU).
• Have mentored middle school students in basic research in Earth Sciences (part of a middle school mentorship program at NHMFL/FSU).
• Have actively participated in the NHMFL Annual Open House activities (from 1996 to 2007) by designing hands-on activities and exhibits related to the Geochemistry program at NHMFL. This program attracts 2500-4500 visitors and it is designed to inform the public on the research conducted at NHMFL and to increase awareness and support of the local community to the lab.
