Volcanoes are formed when magma comes up from a break in the earth's crust. When the lava hits the air or water (yes volcanoes can be underwater too), it cools and forms rock. As more lava pours or explodes out, the pile of rock grows bigger and bigger. This is a volcano. Volcanoes can form anywhere there are cracks through the crust. Volcanoes are cool. |
