Our Terrarium Experiment  

Niyesha shows off her finished terrarium!
Purpose:  We made terrariums from 2 Liter soda bottles and added some acid to see find out how acid rain effects plants in our environment.

 

Methods: we cut the top of each bottle, filled the bottom with some potting soil and added a few plants and seeds.  We also added lemon juice as an acid the the plastic cup, which you can see to the left.  We checked the growth in each terrarium for 4 weeks after they were built.

 
We found that the terrariums with acid did not have a lot of seed germination
