Emphasis area in Environmental Geosciences
Environmental Geosciences is one of the rapidly expanding areas within the Department
of Geological Sciences. The area includes disciplines that deal with aspects of the
atmoshperic, earth, coastal and ocean environments. In particular our faculty areas of
research are: physical, chemical and geological oceanography, coastal and estuarine
processes; geochemistry; hydrology; hydrogeology; geomorphology; palynology &
paleoecology; contaminant transport mechanisms and characteristics and remediation
techniques.
