Research Facilities and Laboratories 

The Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences is well supplied with field and laboratory equipment for extensive geologic research.  This includes: Automated X-ray Diffraction Spectrometers, Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometers (2),  Elemental Analyzers, Electron Microprobe, Combination Mono/Poly ICP-AES, numerous Alpha and Gamma spectrometer systems, Gas Chromatographs (3), GCMS, Particle Size Counters, Ultrafiltration Systems, Surface and Pore Size Analyzers, current meters, sediment traps, acoustic releases, CTD's, Electronic Total Stations and Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers.  Please view the links below for a detailed description of the individual laboratories available to the faculty, staff and students within our department.
