GEGEO Degree Program in Equatorial Guinea

The collaborative UNGE USC GEGEO (Guinea Ecuatorial GEOciencia) Program, now four years old, has enrolled 45 students at GEGEO UNGE and eight students at GEGEO USC. The Program funds two Geology Instructors, Martin Llano and Carlos Angel, and various English instructors. The UNGE program provides undergraduate classes in geology, English, and hard sciences.

The GEGEO geotechnical engineering degree program covers math, physics, chemistry, geology, petroleum geology, fluid mechanics, stratigraphy, petrology, marine geology, drilling, geomorphology, geophysics, GIS, geochemistry, hydrology, environmental impact, and English. All English instruction is by a native English speaker.

UNGE Computer Laboratory and Satellite Link

With Arcadia University’s leadership, UNGE established a modern computer laboratory with a VSAT satellite link that provided internet access at UNGE. The GEGEO program supported the VSAT satellite link.

Now the GEGEO Program is creating a new computer lab with new computers, and UNGE is providing DSL internet service. The new lab will expand GEGEO programming and instruction in the near future. The GEGEO program also pays for a full time computer lab manager and technician.
