GEGEO Degree Program at the University of
South Carolina
GEGEO Scholarship Eligibility:
GEGEO scholars are selected for the USC BS degree program using
a merit-based process based on the following four criteria:
1. Overall UNGE geotechnical program GPA.
2. Demonstrated ability to learn English, including performance on the Michigan Test of English.
3. GEGEO faculty recommendations.
4. Student interview.
The selection process is open to all GEGEO students in the
geotechnical program at UNGE. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 at USC is required
to retain the GEGEO scholarship.
The GEGEO Scholarship Award:
Provides GEGEO Students with tuition, books, board (on-campus
housing and meals), and a monthly stipend to cover general living expenses. In
addition, the scholarship covers student field trips and one round trip flight
to Malabo to visit family.
GEGEO Academic Areas:
GEGEO Scholars can pursue Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering
degrees. At present, the scholarship selection process will give preference to students interested in pursuing degrees in engineering. Each degree option has GEGEO academic advisors assigned to the scholars
to maximize the student’s educational experience at USC.
