Earth Tech is seeking an entry-level Chemist/Environmental Technician in the Earth Sciences Department at their Greenville, SC office. In this full-time position, the candidate will primarily perform data validation/data management responsibilities. It is important that the candidates realize they will not be doing bench-work chemistry. Earth Tech does not have a lab, so we do not perform the analyses. Earth Tech collects environmental samples from various Sites and the samples are then sent to an environmental laboratory for analysis. The Chemists at Earth Tech interpret the instrument data from the laboratories for validity and most importantly for legal defensibility. The data is then compared to regulatory criteria in order to determine the nature and extent of contamination at a Site. This candidate will also assist in the preparation in a variety of technical reports. The candidate must possess good written, communication, and computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.). Secondary responsibilities will be to perform field investigative work at various Sites across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Field work activities will include soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment sampling and Health and Safety Monitoring. The candidate will be OSHA trained and must be willing to travel.
