Anchor Assembly

The purpose of the anchor assembly is to sink the mooring to the bottom of the ocean and to hold the mooring in the same position during the deployment period. The drag induced on the mooring by ocean currents can be substantial, and therefore a massive amount of weight must be used to keep the mooring in place. Old railroad wheels make ideal anchors due to their density but are not always available. Other options are scrap metal, junked transmissions and 55 gallon drums filled with cement.
