Welcome to Ray Torres' Web Page

(updated 11/03)

My name is Ray Torres and I am an associate professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of South Carolina.  I conduct field and lab work designed to investigate processes that control the production, transport, and storage of water and sediment in terrestrial and intertidal landscapes.  My funded research projects are on intertidal zone hydrology and geomorphology, near-surface saturated and unsaturated zone hydrology, and watershed management.  I am always looking for good graduate research assistants.  If interested you should speak the language of differential equations and be prepared for a lot of hard field work.
